Civics Forward Event: National Security

In this episode of Civics Forward, our guests shared their expertise on national security as it relates to civics in America. Elizabeth Rindskopf Parker, University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, and Suzanne Spaulding, Center for Strategic and International Studies, discussed public confidence in our institutions, including our justice system, elections, and more.

As described by Spaulding, “One of the things we realized is that one of the most important ways you could combat disinformation targeting faith in democracy is to build public resilience against the content of that messaging, and the best way to build that public resilience is to reinvigorate civics education in this country. That’s why we think it’s so important that civics education be understood as a national security imperative.”
