Araoluwa A. is passionate about helping protect vulnerable individuals and strengthening communities. For his National Civics Bee® essay, he focused on human trafficking, exploring ways to raise awareness, prevent exploitation, and support those affected by this serious issue.

When he’s not thinking about solutions to community challenges, Araoluwa enjoys playing soccer and spending time with family and friends. He is proud of his family’s heritage, sharing that his parents were born in Nigeria while he was born in Maryland, giving him a unique perspective shaped by multiple cultures and experiences.

A fan of algebra, Araoluwa enjoys solving problems and tackling challenges. His favorite historical figure is George Washington, whose leadership, integrity, and dedication to public service helped lay the foundation for the United States. His personal heroes are his mom and dad, whose guidance, support, and example have encouraged him to work hard and pursue his goals.

Looking ahead, Araoluwa hopes to become a neurosurgeon, combining his interest in science and helping others to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives.

When he’s not studying, playing soccer, or exploring civic issues, Araoluwa enjoys one of his favorite foods: jollof rice.

The National Civics Bee celebrates students like Araoluwa who are using their voices, ideas, and leadership to address important issues in their communities. We are proud to recognize him as a Florida State Finalist.
