Hometown: Villanova, Pennsylvania
Competition Host(s): The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia and PA Chamber of Business and Industry State Competition
Essay Topic: Financial Literacy

Mila K. is passionate about helping young people develop the knowledge and skills they need to make smart financial decisions. For her National Civics Bee® essay, she focused on creating a financial literacy program, exploring how interactive learning can make important financial concepts more engaging, accessible, and fun for students.
When she’s not thinking about ways to strengthen financial education, Mila enjoys staying active on the tennis court and pursuing her love of learning. She also has a unique fun fact: she was born with an extra tooth.
A fan of history, Mila’s favorite historical figure is Benjamin Franklin, whose curiosity, innovation, and practical wisdom helped shape the nation. Her personal hero is her mother, whose guidance, support, and example inspire her to work hard and pursue her goals.
Looking ahead, Mila hopes to become a successful writer, using creativity and communication to inform, inspire, and connect with others through her work.
When she’s not studying, playing tennis, or exploring civic issues, Mila enjoys one of her favorite treats: chocolate.
The National Civics Bee celebrates students like Mila who are using their voices, ideas, and leadership to strengthen their communities. We are proud to recognize her as a Pennsylvania State Finalist.
