Shalidiloya F. is passionate about helping her community address challenges that affect families and neighborhoods. For her National Civics Bee® essay, she focused on the effects of drug use on villages and communities, exploring ways to raise awareness, strengthen support systems, and encourage healthier futures for those impacted by substance abuse.
When she’s not thinking about solutions to community challenges, Shalidiloya enjoys sharing her love of music through singing. Her enthusiasm and confidence help her connect with others and express her creativity.
A fan of history, Shalidiloya’s favorite historical figure is Rosa Parks, whose courage and determination helped inspire lasting social change. Her personal hero is God, whose guidance and faith play an important role in her life and values.
Looking ahead, Shalidiloya hopes to become a flight attendant, combining her love of meeting people, exploring new places, and helping others in a career that connects communities around the world.
When she’s not studying, singing, or exploring civic issues, Shalidiloya enjoys playing volleyball and eating one of her favorite foods: nachos.
